Biden addresses supporters on election night, Trump to also make a statement
November 4, 2020
Democratic candidate Joe Biden addressed his supporters in Wilmington, Delaware midnight Wednesday to express optimism as the results of the 2020 election roll in and news networks declare victories in several states for the former Vice President.
Fox News has put Biden winning in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois, Virginia, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Maine.
Biden said that he expects a final result will be announced either Wednesday morning or later, saying it will be a “decision of the American people.” Moreover, he urged his supporters to let the process happen as millions of mail in and absentee ballot remain uncounted.
Biden added that his campaign believes “we’re on track to win this election.”
“We’re confident about Arizona,” Biden explained. “…We also just called for Minnesota. And we’re still in the game in Georgia, that’s not what we expected. We’re feeling real good about Wisconsin and Michigan. And, by the way, it’s gonna take time to count the votes, we’re gonna win Pennsylvania.”
In response to Biden’s speech, incumbent President Donald Trump announced he will be making a statement on Election night as well, adding in a follow up tweet, “We are up BIG, but they are trying to STEAL the Election. We will never let them do it. Votes cannot be cast after the Polls are closed!”
