kelly ripas daughter mocks moms instagram belfies

Kelly Ripa’s 19-year-old daughter Lola Consuelos teased her for posting belfies on Instagram in a new video — and called the ‘thirst trap’ photos Kelly shares of Lola’s dad, Mark Consuelos, ‘disgusting.’

The mother-daughter duo answered questions in a new video for People magazine — which they appear on the cover of this week with Mark and Lola’s brothers — and Lola teased her mom for her social media activity.

The rising NYU sophomore said she’d never post a butt selfie or ‘clap back’ at her haters like her 49-year-old mother does — and when it comes to sexy pictures Kelly posts of Mark, Lola insists she has to ‘block that out.’

Kelly and Lola sat side by side in the woods for the Q&A session, responding to prompts written on cards.

‘Something my mom posts on social media that I would never is… the comments back to the haters,’ Lola says.

‘But that’s why the people follow me!’ her mom replies.

‘I understand,’ says Lola. ‘But I just don’t even think you should give them the time of day. I mean these people are sitting at home wishing they were you.’

‘No,’ her mom says back. ‘I think my haters and I have a healthy relationship with each other. I think that it’s a give and take because, because I think the people that I clap back to are very clever.

‘They’re usually very funny, I usually get a good chuckle out of it. They deserve the little pepper! They deserve it. They need it.’

Lola then adds that she also wouldn’t post a belfie — that is, a butt selfie — like her mom, noting: ‘That was ridiculous.’

That’s when Kelly admits she thought Lola would have answered the question differently.

‘I thought you were going to say I shouldn’t post thirst trap pictures of your dad,’ the talk show host says.

‘That’s disgusting,’ Lola fires back. ‘I block that out of my mind. I forgot that you even did that. I don’t even know if I follow you on Instagram still! I’m kidding, I would never.’

The two also discuss style, with Lola admitting she has taken things from her mom’s closet, and Kelly praising her daughter’s fashion sense.

‘Sometimes I wish she would put a sweater on, she looks cold,’ Kelly says, but admits she’d glad she doesn’t because she has her ‘own individual style.’

‘If I had your figure, I’d be showing it off too. I’d just be sitting her, no clothes on, in the woods,’ she says.

The two sing each other’s praises in several ways throughout the interview, with Lola repeatedly boasting about how kind her mother is and how well she treats others.

At one point, Kelly also shares the relationship advice she has imparted to her daughter.

‘I think i’ve show you this, that you have to be partners in your relationship. You have to be a good listener and a good talker and you have to be willing to carry your load in the relationship, you can’t just expect your partner to do all the work,’ she says.

Kelly, Lola, Mark, 23-year-old Michael, and 17-year-old Joaquin all appear on the cover of People’s first-ever Family Issue this week.

In the interview printed inside, Kelly revealed that Lola has taught her ‘so much about being a modern-day woman.’

‘It really gives me hope — her generation really supports each other, the way she and her friends have each other’s backs.

‘For all the talk about women helping other women, I see it in her generation in a way I never have before.

‘I think I had definitive ideas about raising girls versus raising boys, even though I don’t really believe in gender stereotyping,’ she added. ‘[But] my sons are just as sensitive as my daughter, and my daughter is as strong as my sons.’

Mark said he has experienced personal growth as well with regards to fatherhood, developing a trusting relationship with Lola.

‘As overprotective as I thought I would be when she was born and I was holding her in my arms, I’ve mellowed a bit. Because I’m really aware of what a good head on her shoulders she has,’ he said.

As for his relationship with his sons, he said: ‘You’ll have conversations with Joaquin where you realize you’ve just learned something new about the way he thinks.’

The whole family was also in agreement that Mark and Kelly were stricter parents before but have mellowed out as the trio of kids have grown older.

‘As you get older and you learn more, that youngest kid hopefully benefits from a little bit more wisdom … and hopefully fewer nerves,’ said Kelly.

‘Younger siblings get to do whatever they want right out of the gate,’ said firstborn son Michael, while Joaquin acknowledged that ‘my parents have softened up a lot now that I’m in high school.’

Kelly and Mark’s protective instinct was so influential in their parenting that they did not allow Lola to make her Instagram account public until she was 18.

‘She had really wanted a public account, but we made her wait until she was an adult. Apparently she turned 18 and immediately went public,’ Kelly said.

Interestingly enough, Lola appears to have deleted or archived all of the photos on her account recently and has zero images up.

Mark also shared a bit about his and Kelly’s future plans that Lola might want to block out’ — when she, Michael, and Joaquin all move out, they expect to spend most of their time at home in the nude.

‘Rob Lowe says that once your kids leave, you pretty much never put clothes on ever again; you’re just naked all the time,’ Mark said.
