Report: Young Students in Virtual Online Class Watched in Horror as Classmates Mother Was Murdered by Ex-Boyfriend
Online students in Florida had a terrifying and traumatic situation unfold when their classmate’s mother was murdered by her ex-boyfriend during the class.
The teacher was able to “mute” the audio, but the video was still running.
According to reports, the students saw their classmate place her little hands over her ears as gunshots rang out. At one point a bullet even hit the computer screen.
Even more horrifying, the mother’s three other children also witnessed the murder.
On the first day of school in Martin County, the girl was sitting in front of a computer at home when her mother was shot and killed by her former boyfriend, WPEC CBS 12 reported.
A student at Warfield Elementary in Indiantown, the girl and three siblings, ranging in age up to 17, were in the room at the time, as well as two cousins.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said Donald J. Williams, 27, shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, 32-year-old Maribel Rosado-Morales, Tuesday morning, in front of the six children.
“The teacher’s statement is that she heard a commotion, knew it was some kind of confrontation, muted it and then watched the 10-year-old put her hands up to her ears,” Snyder said, according to the CBS affiliate.
The computer screen, which was struck by one of the bullets, then went blank.
The murderer, Don Williams then took off on his bicycle and hopped on a bus.
The bus driver was suspicious and called 911, and Williams was arrested.
Officers found a stolen gun in Williams’ bag, and he gave them a full confession.
He was charged with first-degree murder.
