UFO sightings up 283% in NYC from 2018
2020 has already been quite an alien year. The number of UFO sightings this year, however, make it otherworldly!
This year, there were 46 close encounters compared to 2019’s 35, miles ahead of the few dozen reported in 2018.
With 12 sightings, Brooklynites witnessed the most flying objects in 2020. Manhattan and Queens are on its tail with 11 and 10 sightings respectively. Staten Island, however, only reported eight. The Bronx disappointed, too, with only five reported from the borough.
It was during the summer when two of the more unforgettable encounters in the Big Apple occurred, The Post reports.
A Staten Islander spotted and stared at an “oval” aircraft that “looked and sounded like a helicopter in the early hours of July 21,” The Post writes. After which, the mysterious flying object “sent a surge of heat/radiation through my body!”
The Staten Islander “honestly thought it was the government putting something into the air with everything going on during these times and I thought I would wake up and find it all over the news or on Instagram,” according to The Post.
Extraordinarily, one Bronxite witnessed 30 objects “flying in a perfect line, in perfect synchronicity” that “looked like a bunch of moving stars” late on June 8, per The Post.
“I don’t drink, or take any drugs whatsoever,” the eyewitness emphasized. “I’m not a UFO conspiracy theorist.”
The fact that the Pentagon confirming the existence of UFOs is not one of the most memorable news stories from this year goes to show how wild 2020’s news stories have been. On top of that, President Donald Trump in October said himself that he would check on reports of UFOs.
